I spent a great deal of time exploring the techniques of Batik painting. I was introduced to Batik in the 70's. I first learned to use melted crayons. After researching and experimenting, I progressed to using only dyes and wax blends. Thank you Linda Lathers for introducing me to this art form. This batik has an overlay of silk organza imprinted with birds. When the work is backlit the birds disappear.
